HUAWEI P30 LITE NEW EDITION GOES OFFICIAL WITH INCREMENTAL CHANGES

Huawei’s situation is slightly complicated. While the company is going pretty well on its domestic market in China, the ban imposed by the US government has affected the sales in Western countries. The company isn’t allowed to certify new devices due to the sanctions imposed by Trump’s administration. However, it has been working hard to stay fresh in the mind of non-Chinese customers. One of the solutions consists in re-badging current smartphones. The company is bringing back some smartphones with little incremental changes to the hardware. That’s exactly what is happening with the newly announced Huawei P30 Lite New Edition.

The Huawei P30 Lite New Edition is essentially the same smartphone from a year ago. However, it comes with extra storage and memory. The new variant has up to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of Internal Storage. The last year’s model in counterpart has up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage. Despite these incremental changes, everything else remains the same – design, camera configuration SoC, design, and battery are exactly similar to the vanilla edition.

It’s a curious, but interesting way to keep its name on the headlines. Therefore, the company can re-release all of its 2019 smartphones without having to obtain new licenses for Google Services. It’s not the best of solutions we all know, and the company won’t be able to keep it for much longer. Hopefully, talks between the US and the Chinese government will advance enough to benefit Huawei. Only then, the company will return to this game with full power.
