How often have you searched for a solution to charge your phone?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A recent survey by LG<\/a><\/strong> of thousands of people found \u201cLow Battery Anxiety,\u201d a term they used to explain the behavior of people who change their everyday lives to accommodate their dying battery. The survey found that 9 out of 10 people \u201cfelt panic<\/a><\/strong>\u201d when their phone battery drops to 20% or lower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More data has emerged that suggests the fear of being without a fully charged mobile phone<\/a><\/strong> is a growing problem. This type of anxiety  even has a name \u2013 nomophobia (NO MObile PHone phoBIA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We once lived happy, productive lives without smartphones<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 but we now live in a digital world. Every day people rely on their phones for important documents, information, and even access to work, events, restaurants, and other facilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five symptoms of low battery anxiety determined by LG<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Asking a total stranger to charge their\u00a0smartphone<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Arguing with a significant other or romantic interest because of unanswered calls or texts\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Ordering something at a bar or restaurant just to use their power outlet\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Secretly \u2018borrowing<\/a><\/strong>\u2019 someone else\u2019s charger\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Owning three or more smartphone charging cables<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    We conducted our survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We asked users: \u201cDo you worry about your phone dying when you are out and about?<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Answers to choose from: Somewhat worried, Worried, and Stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The most interesting insight is the difference between female and male responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    -Responded Stressed: 59% female, 36% Male, 5% Nonbinary<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    -Stressed and Worried replies make up 51% of responses from Females while only 40% from Males.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Females are more worried about their phones dying<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This comment from one of our female users explains why:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cThought of being without a phone<\/a><\/strong> after 6 pm is horrifying. What if I\u2019m in an emergency and need to call an Uber to leave?\u201dWhy should businesses care?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Anxiety and discomfort go hand in hand, so it makes sense that companies should try to reduce stress for customers and employees wherever possible, ensuring they have a positive experience and are productive.What impact could low battery anxiety have on customer experience?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A customer struggling to relax because they are worried if they have enough power left in their phone<\/a><\/strong> to navigate unlikely to enjoy their experience, and may even remember their journey (and your company) negatively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
